Make Your Own Scented Candle Making Kit

Or you can create your own scented candle making kit. It’s not hard to do, and once you have the items, you will be all set to make a lot of candles. You will need some basic supplies.

Buying wax, wicks, scents, and coloring, can all be bought at discount candle supply houses. Maybe you want soy wax, for soy candle making. Or beeswax, for beeswax candles. Check around – and buy the quantity that you want – or the quantity that gives you the best deal, with extras for the next time you want to make candles.

You’ll need a pot, which you’ll use to cook the wax in, then to pour the wax into the molds or jars. This can be a fancy “candle pot,” but why pay for that? Instead, use a coffee can that has a little spout pinched into the lip. Free is a great price!

You’ll also need a thermometer so that you will know when the wax is at the right temperature. Any candy thermometer will do this – and candy thermometers are usually cheaper than so-called candle thermometers. Plus you may already have a candy thermometer in your kitchen!

Your jars or other containers can also be much cheaper if they aren’t bought as part of a kit. Look around – check craft stores and places online, and you’ll likely find a good price for the quantity you want.

You can use a scented candle making kit for gift making. This will save you money on gifts for teachers, neighbors, friends, and whoever you want to give gifts to.
