Throwing a baby shower for someone is a great experience. Not only are you taking a hand in bringing this person’s close personal friends and family together to share in the celebration of a new life being brought upon the world, but you also get to show the person, personally, that you care about them and their soon to be new bundle of joy. One thing that often stresses people out when they’re throwing baby showers is deciding what baby shower party favors to provide. It’s not enough to just have decorations and food and a cake; each person should be able to walk away with a memory of that baby shower, and the mother should especially. Providing baby shower favors doesn’t have to be stressful, or expensive. In fact, you can provide everyone in attendance with baby shower favors and you can do it all under twenty dollars.

When providing baby shower favors, you only have to follow one rule. If it’s a boy, use primarily blue colors. If it’s a girl, pink. If the sex of the baby is unknown, go with an equal mix of blue and pink. Other than that rule, anything goes.

Candy

Who doesn’t like candy? One great baby shower favor idea is to make little candy bags for each person. You can get a bundle of blue or pink cardboard candy boxes at your local dollar or party store. You simply unfold them, stuff them with blue or pink wrapped Hershey kisses or M&Ms, tie them with a blue or pink bow and put them in a basket. They take ten minutes to make, cost less than five dollars to buy and they provide everyone with baby shower favors they can enjoy.

Pictures

There’s a misconception that baby shower favors have to be given on the day of the shower. Another idea that you can incorporate along with your other favors is to provide everyone in attendance with a little picture album of the shower itself. This of course will be given after the shower is over since pictures have to be printed or developed, or you can give everyone the baby shower favor albums in advance and then give them all the pictures later. It’s your choice. But this will allow everyone who cares about the mother and the soon to be newborn to keep a little piece of history with their very own photo album completely with baby shower pictures.

Raffle

Another great idea for baby shower favors is to get a bundle of raffle tickets that can also be bought at your local dollar or party store. Everyone buys a raffle for a dollar, or other designated amount, and the winner wins a prize. The prize can be anything from a wine gift basket, to gift certificates to a fancy restaurant, or anything else that seems worthy of the amount of money collected, and the proceeds of the raffle all go to the mother to be to help raise the baby.

These are all perfect baby shower favor ideas and hopefully they’ll help you use your creativity to come up with more inexpensive favor ideas so you can throw the very best baby shower possible for that new mother who you care so much for.
